The U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office in the Western District of North Carolina has <\/span>charged<\/span><\/a> 34-year-old DeCarlos DeJuan Brown Jr. with \u201ccommitting an act causing death on a mass transit system\u201d in the fatal shooting of Iryna Zarutska on the Charlotte light rail system on August 22. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison or the death penalty; the suspect is presumed innocent.<\/span><\/p>

Talking to reporters, US President Donald Trump <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>, that \u201cwhen you are the aggressor, you lose more\u201d. Thus, he publicly called Russia an aggressor in the war against Ukraine for the first time \u2013 this was reported by Politico. A few days earlier, Trump said that his \u201cpatience is running out quickly\u201d with Putin\u2019s behavior. The change in tone could increase expectations of tougher steps from the administration \u2013 from sanctions to additional support for Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>
