International meetings in recent days have shown that the issue of supporting Ukraine remains on the agenda in the United States and Europe. Kyiv is calling on partners not to limit themselves to symbolic gestures, but to strengthen sanctions against Russia. At the same time, there is a growing need among allies for a common strategy of action to prevent the weakening of the global front of support.<\/span><\/p>

Trump admitted: ending the war in Ukraine is more difficult than settling the Middle East<\/b><\/p>

US President Donald Trump <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>, that he was disappointed in Vladimir Putin, because he had hoped to quickly end Russia's war against Ukraine, but this turned out to be more difficult than he expected. During a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Trump stressed that \"this is perhaps more difficult than the Middle East.\" He emphasized that the war takes the lives of thousands of soldiers every week, calling the situation \"madness.\" The president also announced \u201cserious negotiations\u201d on resolving the conflicts in the Middle East, which he said offer a chance for peace.<\/span><\/p>

Trump added that unlike the situation in Gaza, where active efforts are underway to free hostages, the war in Ukraine remains a complex challenge with no quick solution. His statement reflects a shift in tone in the White House\u2019s rhetoric, from confidence in the possibility of a quick peace to recognition of the realities of a large-scale and debilitating conflict. The president also noted that he remains open to negotiations and considers his relationship with Putin important for finding a compromise, but admitted: \u201cI am very disappointed in him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

The US uses the \u201cCuban footprint\u201d in the war in Ukraine to pressure the UN<\/b><\/p>

The Donald Trump administration has urged allies not to support a UN resolution demanding the lifting of the US embargo against Cuba, arguing that it supports Russia in its war against Ukraine. According to <\/span>Reuters<\/span><\/a>, an internal State Department cable said that Havana had sent between 1,000 and 5,000 of its citizens to fight on Moscow\u2019s side. The United States is urging its partners to either vote \u201cno\u201d or abstain, accusing the Cuban government of \u201ccorruption and incompetence\u201d that are allegedly the real cause of the island\u2019s economic crisis.<\/span><\/p>

Washington stresses that Havana is \u201csacrificing its own citizens by allowing them to be used as foot soldiers in Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine.\u201d The Trump administration has already put Cuba back on the list of state sponsors of terrorism and tightened sanctions, including restrictions on financial transactions and travel. The cable also notes that previous US arguments for humanitarian exemptions did not influence the vote at the UN, so the current campaign focuses on Cuba\u2019s military cooperation with Russia. This approach reflects Washington\u2019s attempt to use the Ukrainian context to isolate Havana on the international stage.<\/span><\/p>

Trump hints at readiness to provide Ukraine with Tomahawks<\/b><\/p>

US President Donald Trump <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>, that he had \u201csomehow\u201d made a decision to transfer long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. At the same time, he noted that before making a final decision, he wanted to find out exactly how Ukraine planned to use them. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump stressed that Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine \u201cshould never have started\u201d and called the decisions of both sides \u201cwrong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

When asked whether Washington would limit the range of strikes on Russian targets, the president replied that he wanted to ask \u201ca few questions\u201d first, since he \u201cdoesn\u2019t want escalation.\u201d His statement reflects a balance between the desire to support Ukraine and the desire to avoid direct confrontation with Moscow. Trump\u2019s statement came against the backdrop of discussions in Congress about a new package of military aid to Kyiv and active negotiations with NATO allies.<\/span><\/p>

Moscow claims \u201cability to shoot down\u201d Tomahawk and threatens US<\/b><\/p>

The Russian State Duma <\/span>announced<\/span><\/a>, that the Russian army \u201cwill be able to shoot down Tomahawk missiles without any problems\u201d if the US provides them to Ukraine. The head of the defense committee, Andrey Kartapolov, called Moscow\u2019s possible reaction \u201ctough, asymmetric and measured\u201d. According to him, even if the missiles are transferred, \u201cthey will not change anything on the battlefield\u201d, because Russia allegedly has experience in intercepting them in Syria.<\/span><\/p>

Kartapolov also threatened that the problems will not arise with the Russian troops, but \u201cwith those who will deliver and use them\u201d. He said that launching Tomahawk requires a special infrastructure, which Ukraine does not have, and promised that any attempts to create it \u201cwill be destroyed by strikes from \u201cGerani\u201d to \u201cKinzhal\u201d\u201d. Such statements were another attempt by the Kremlin to demonstrate demonstrative confidence in the face of a possible increase in military support for Ukraine from the United States and its allies.<\/span><\/p>

Russia uses artificial intelligence to attack the United States - CPD<\/b><\/p>

The Ukrainian State Center for Countering Disinformation <\/span>also reported<\/span><\/a>, that Russia is actively using artificial intelligence to intensify information attacks against the United States. According to NewsGuard, the Kremlin is behind most of the campaigns aimed at destabilizing American society through fake websites, social networks and propaganda resources. The network called Pravda includes more than 150 websites in 49 countries, which in 2024 alone distributed more than 3.6 million materials with more than 200 pro-Russian narratives.<\/span><\/p>

Experts note that these resources deliberately influence search engines and AI models so that they begin to reproduce Russian messages. This creates a danger for democratic countries, where distrust in state institutions and the media is growing. \u201cIn this way, Russia is trying to attack democratic societies from within, undermining citizens\u2019 trust in their own state,\u201d the CPD statement said. The material emphasizes that the Kremlin is turning digital technologies into a weapon of strategic influence, which poses a threat not only to the United States, but also to global information security.<\/span><\/p>
