Ukraine has provided the US with a list of military needs, including air defense systems<\/b><\/h2>

During a meeting with US Senators Thom Tillis, John Curtis, and Alan Armstrong, Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara discussed the battlefield situation, Russian threats, and the needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces. The Ukrainian side presented its American partners with a specific list of military requirements, particularly regarding air defense. Khmara thanked the US for its support of Ukraine and the supply of critical weaponry through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) and JUMPSTART mechanisms. According to him, this assistance helps protect Ukrainians and strengthen the Defense Forces.<\/span><\/p>

The Ministry of Defense <\/span>noted<\/span><\/a>, that Russia is intensifying strikes on civilian targets, increasing the production of ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, and attacking vessels involved in Ukrainian grain exports. \"The enemy is intensifying strikes on civilian targets, increasing the production of ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, and attacking vessels involved in Ukrainian grain exports,\" the Ministry stated. Khmara emphasized the need for continued military support for Ukraine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Separately, during the meeting, US senators were presented with Ukrainian experiences and projects that could help the US and other allies prepare for modern threats.<\/span><\/p>

Kremlin rules out Putin-Zelenskyy meeting at G20 summit in Miami<\/b><\/h2>

The Kremlin <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>, that a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Putin during the G20 summit in Miami is impossible. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed the possibility of such a meeting after Zelenskyy declared his readiness to meet Putin for talks on ending the war. According to Peskov, Moscow is willing to consider a meeting only on Russian territory. \"It is impossible,\" the Kremlin spokesman said in response to a question about the possibility of the leaders meeting at the summit.<\/span><\/p>

Peskov also stated that Putin is willing to meet with Zelenskyy exclusively in Moscow. \"There is a readiness to meet with him in Moscow,\" AFP quoted the Kremlin spokesman as saying. A G20 summit is scheduled for December 14\u201315 in Miami; however, at the time of the statement, it had not been confirmed whether Putin would participate. Zelenskyy had previously stated his readiness to meet Putin on the sidelines of the summit\u2014provided both leaders were invited\u2014emphasizing that such a meeting must aim to reach concrete decisions on ending the war. His statement came amidst renewed efforts by Washington to revive the negotiation process between Kyiv and Moscow.<\/span><\/p>

Ukrainian military personnel are training the US Army in modern drone warfare tactics<\/b><\/h2>

Ukrainian troops have joined large-scale US Army <\/span>exercises<\/span><\/a> in Germany, where they are sharing their experience in the use of drones and electronic warfare systems with American units. About ten Ukrainian soldiers are advising US troops on drone-based combat operations and sharing insights from real-world missions. The training is taking place at a range in Germany, involving the US Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade. US military representatives note that in roughly half of the brigade's engagements with a simulated adversary, initial contact was established using drones.<\/span><\/p>

Ukrainian military personnel are working directly alongside US units, helping them master technologies and adapt tactics for the use of drones and electronic warfare systems. Brigadier General Terry Tillis, commander of the U.S. Army training unit in Germany, stated that Ukrainian service members are advising their American counterparts during exercises. The U.S. Army possesses approximately 1,900 drones and is incorporating lessons learned by the Ukrainian military during the war. At the same time, the U.S. side does not plan to simply replicate the Ukrainian model but rather adapt the experience gained to its own structure and combat doctrine. Earlier this year, some U.S. troops from this brigade also visited Ukraine to study firsthand the experience of drone deployment.<\/span><\/p>

Kushner identifies territory as the main obstacle to a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia<\/b><\/h2>

U.S. Special Representative Jared Kushner <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>, that the territorial issue remains the primary obstacle to ending Russia's war against Ukraine. According to him, the positions of Kyiv and Moscow regarding territory differ significantly, and Putin has already defined the line to which he wants Ukrainian troops to withdraw. Kushner noted that the U.S. side has been working in parallel on other components of a potential peace agreement. Specifically, this involves a security system and guarantees for Ukraine designed to prevent a recurrence of the war.<\/span><\/p>

\"Territory will be the main issue. That is where the parties still do not see eye to eye,\" Kushner said. He added that trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi also yielded mechanisms for monitoring and preventing new clashes\u2014mechanisms that could be implemented once a demarcation line is established. He also highlighted the economic component of the future agreement, which is intended to create conditions for attracting investment, generating jobs, and fostering Ukraine's economic growth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"President Putin has now outlined the line he wants to reach. If Ukraine is willing to withdraw to that line, then obviously the rest of the agreement is already shaped and prepared. Ukraine does not want to do that right now,\" he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Kushner added that the US, acting as a mediator, must find a solution that accommodates Ukraine's position while simultaneously persuading Russia to end the war; he also announced plans to unveil the next steps in the negotiation process within the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>

Bill to toughen sanctions against Russia set for vote in US House of Representatives<\/b><\/h2>

A bill to toughen sanctions against Russia\u2014which the US Senate approved by an overwhelming majority last month\u2014is scheduled for a vote in the House of Representatives next week. <\/span>Bloomberg<\/span><\/a> reported this, citing an informed source. A simple majority vote will be sufficient to pass the measure in the House. The bill, authored by the late South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, would expand US President Donald Trump's authority to impose trade restrictions on countries that purchase Russian energy or help Moscow circumvent sanctions.<\/span><\/p>

The legislation would allow Trump to impose 100% tariffs on the five largest buyers of Russian crude oil and natural gas, as well as on the five countries helping Russia evade energy sanctions. China, India, and Turkey are cited among the largest buyers of Russian petroleum products. At the same time, the bill faced opposition in the House of Representatives due to concerns that expanding the president's authority regarding tariffs could lead to rising oil prices. Nevertheless, the ruling party's leadership decided to advance the measure after returning to Washington from the Republican party convention. The bill enjoys bipartisan support and the backing of the White House.<\/span><\/p>
