Despite the pessimistic news of recent days, we want to believe that we will not witness a repeat of 1938, when the leading countries of the time chose to appease Nazi Germany\u2014an aggressor whose ideology and methods are strikingly similar to those of today\u2019s Russian regime\u2014by allowing it to tear apart independent Czechoslovakia. We all remember how that appeasement ultimately ended\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Western politicians, civil society, and the media must recognize a crucial fact: if Russia wins, they will not only witness the destruction of democracy in Ukraine. They will see a Kremlin-orchestrated, Moscow Patriarchate-endorsed genocide against all Ukrainians\u2014a campaign that the Russian army will execute with brutal efficiency, as it already did in 2022 in Bucha, Hostomel, Borodianka, and other occupied towns. Only this time, it will unfold on a much larger scale, wiping out entire regions still home to millions of innocent civilians.<\/span><\/p>

To begin with, it must be acknowledged that throughout Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine, the United States has played a critically important role in supporting the Ukrainian state. This support has come in the form of military and humanitarian aid, economic assistance, and active collaboration with international partners to impose sanctions on the aggressor. The U.S. has also been the driving force behind global pressure on Moscow, restricting Russia\u2019s access to Western technology, weakening its military capabilities, and undermining its economic stability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

However, continued U.S. support for Ukraine is not just about security for individual nations or a struggle over territory.
