United States imposes new sanctions on individuals and companies that support Russian war machine

The United States has imposed new sanctions on nearly 400 organizations and individuals that contribute to Russia's illegal war. As part of this action, the State Department has sanctioned more than 120 individuals and organizations, and the Treasury Department has sanctioned 275 individuals involved in providing advanced technology and equipment to Russia. In total, the sanctions list includes companies and individuals from 17 countries.

This was reads in a press releases of The U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. State Department.

"The United States and our allies will continue to take decisive action around the world to stem the flow of critical tools and technology that Russia needs to wage its illegal and immoral war against Ukraine. As today's actions demonstrate, we are unwavering in our determination to degrade and impair Russia's ability to equip its war machine and to stop those who seek to support its efforts by circumventing or evading our sanctions and export controls," the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.

Specifically, the United States has sanctioned nearly 400 individuals and companies from India, China, Turkey, and other countries that support Russia's military efforts by supplying critical materials. More than 150 Russian defense, logistics, manufacturing, and aerospace companies were also sanctioned.

The sanctions also affected pharmaceutical companies from India, which are accused of sending technology from the United States, such as servers for artificial intelligence and machine learning, to Russia. Restrictions also apply to more than two dozen Chinese companies that have supplied components and microelectronics to the Russian defense industry.

The sanctions list also includes several Swiss lawyers who provide legal cover for circumventing the restrictions.

The US deputy secretary of state called on countries to take similar measures against Russia's partners.
