“You need to do more than you did yesterday”: a meeting with Heroes of Ukraine took place in Washington

At Ukraine House in Washington, D.C., Ukrainian military personnel shared their vision of the situation on the frontlines and called on the global community for more active support of Ukraine.

This was reported by Ukraine House.

Among the speakers were Hero of Ukraine Kyrylo Berkal, a defender of Mariupol and former Russian captive; Dmytro Kucharchuk, commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade, who participated in the defense of Bakhmut and Avdiivka; and Oleh Mahdych, commander of a Medical Volunteer Battalion Hospitallers crew.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova, emphasized the importance of unity and strengthening international support in the fight against Russian aggression.

“We must do everything we can, and more – this was the appeal of our very convincing military representatives from the 3rd Assault Brigade and the Medical Volunteer Battalion ‘Hospitallers’ during their discussion… Thank you for the professional dialogue, energy, motivation, and optimism to continue our joint fight with our allies against the evil brought by terrorist Russia to our land”, noted Markarova.

The event gathered a wide range of participants, including military attachés, notably Prince Joachim, a representative of the Embassy of Denmark in the U.S., members of Congress, diplomats, and representatives of the Ukrainian community.

Participants discussed key aspects of the war, including the motivation of Ukraine’s defenders, the role of women in the military, the needs of soldiers, and the prospects for achieving peace.

As attendees noted, the speeches of the military were filled with sincerity, strength, and faith in victory. This event served as an important opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between Ukraine and its international partners, reinforcing unity in the fight for freedom.
