In his fourth and final speech as President of the United States at the UN General Assembly on September 24, Joe Biden mentioned Ukraine. The United States will support Ukraine until the country achieves victory and lasting peace based on the principles of the UN Charter.
This was reported in the broadcast of US President Joe Biden's speech at the UN General Assembly.
"When Russia invaded Ukraine, we could have stood aside and simply protested. But Vice President Harris and I recognized that this was an attack on everything this institution (the UN) is supposed to stand for. And so, under my leadership, America responded to the challenge by providing enormous security, economic, and humanitarian assistance", the US President said.
In particular, President Biden's speech was quite optimistic. He said that despite the ongoing wars and conflicts, everything can be overcome if we work together. According to him, the United States has united a number of countries to help Ukraine and protect the principles of the UN Charter, and this work should continue. Namely, to continue to help Ukraine win and achieve a just peace.
"Will we continue to lend our support to help Ukraine win this war and maintain its freedom? Or will we walk away and allow the aggression to be renewed and the nation to be destroyed? I know my answer. We cannot tire. We cannot turn away, and we will not withdraw our support for Ukraine until Ukraine wins with a just and lasting peace in accordance with the UN Charter", Biden said.
