Charity “Fairytale Gala” Show Held in Northbrook

A charity fashion show titled “Fairytale Gala” took place in Northbrook, Illinois. The children’s runway event combined a fashion show, entertainment program, and a charitable mission. The evening was held in a family-friendly format featuring runway walks, photo zones, live music, and a festive atmosphere.

This was reported by Radio UA Chicago.

The event was organized by Khrystyna Kleban, founder and creative director of Sova Events; Kateryna Hrod, owner of the StarKids modeling school, Ukrainian model and actress, and winner of Lady of the World 2021; and Oleksandr Field, owner of the Passage restaurant. In total, around 50 sponsors and partners were involved in organizing the event.

The venue was decorated in a fairytale style, featuring a castle-themed photo zone in the lobby, a festive Christmas tree, a meeting with Santa, a red carpet, and a runway. Both children and adults were welcome to take part in the fashion show. Approximately ninety participants aged from one year to over 50 took part, including students of the modeling school as well as first-time participants, with entire families joining the runway.

Participants showcased clothing from the LUXART vyshyvanka store, children’s outfits from Layla Land Store, fashion pieces from the children’s atelier Magical Chest, and women’s collections by ViVi Lu. Preparation for the runway appearances and participant support were provided by Kateryna Hrod.

“We tried to make this evening special. First of all, we wanted every child to feel beautiful, unique, and important. Secondly, our celebration is an opportunity to spend time with families, relax, capture fairytale moments in photos, and immerse ourselves in the pre-holiday atmosphere… I believe everyone felt the holiday spirit today.”

In addition to the entertainment program, Fairytale Gala had a charitable purpose. Part of the funds raised will be donated to several charitable organizations.

“Yes, we want to help children develop and showcase their beauty and talents. Yes, we wanted to give them a fairytale. But all of this was also done for another purpose — charity. In particular, we decided to share part of the funds raised during the event with the charitable organization UWAA (Ukrainian Women’s Association of America – ed. VM), which helps children in Ukraine whose lives have been destroyed by war and who are fighting serious illnesses. Another portion of the funds will be donated to the PROTEZ FOUNDATION, which supports severely wounded Ukrainian defenders, as well as to the Assembly of World Diasporas,” said Khrystyna Kleban.

During the event, Leonid Bard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Assembly of World Diasporas, presented special awards to Kateryna Hrod, Khrystyna Kleban, and Oleksandr Field for organizing and supporting charitable projects. Guests also had the opportunity to contribute through a festive lottery and auction, including a handmade ceremonial bread crafted by Oksana Kliuiko.
