The United Christian Parish in Reston, Virginia hosted a “Stand with Ukraine” benefit concert that brought the community together to support Ukrainian veterans. The event was an important opportunity to continue the Ukrainian Veterans Support Program, which provides rehabilitation, sports participation, and long-term assistance to those who served Ukraine.

Thanks to the generosity of the concert participants, $2,522 was raised, including donations and merchandise sales. Proceeds will go toward supporting Ukrainian veterans, including their athletic rehabilitation and participation in the prestigious 2026 Army Ten-Miler and Marine Corps Marathons.
The musical part of the evening was created by American pianists Anna Balakerska and Dasha Gabay, as well as invited musicians Misha Tumanov and Yechan Lim. Together they presented the audience with an unforgettable evening of art, harmony and sincere solidarity. The program featured inspiring works for two pianos by George Gershwin, Myroslav Skoryk, Darius Milhaud and other composers.
The event was held thanks to the cooperation of the organization “US Ukrainian Activists” and the initiative “Musicians for Ukraine” – a community of performers, the activities of which are coordinated by Dasha Gabay and Alex Balakersky.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, “Musicians for Ukraine” has already organized 20 charity concerts in support of Ukraine. The organization “US Ukrainian Activists” has entered into a partnership with this initiative to continue supporting Ukraine through music and concrete actions.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the United Christian Parish for their hospitality and support of the event’s mission. It was thanks to their openness that the concert took place in a warm and welcoming space, where music united the community for a common goal.
Special words of gratitude were given to the volunteers, whose dedication, organization, and sincerity ensured the success of the evening – from welcoming guests to coordinating ticket sales and souvenirs.
The organizers emphasized that everyone who got involved – whether by attending, performing, volunteering, or financially supporting – helped transform music into real support, hope, and solidarity for Ukrainian veterans and civilians affected by the war.
Together, the community continues to stand with Ukraine.
