The Ukrainian language will be recognized as a language of international communication, will become an official language of the EU and will get new opportunities for study and popularization abroad.
This was announced by the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language Taras Kremin. Thus, the National Commission for State Language Standards approved the text of the State Language Standard "Ukrainian as a Foreign Language. General proficiency levels A1 - C2". Previously, the Ukrainian authorities had not registered any language standards!
"This decision is a significant step towards the establishment and popularization of the Ukrainian language abroad. I am convinced that this will significantly increase the number of people willing to learn the language of the heroes of the world, and also guarantee Ukrainian the status of an official language of the European Union...", said Kremin.
The document should become the basis for those who teach Ukrainian around the world, publish textbooks and manuals, create tests for Ukrainian as a foreign language, develop curricula and organize schools and courses for everyone who wants to learn Ukrainian.
