The Embassy of France in the United States hosted a charity concert in Washington, DC, featuring renowned Ukrainian-American pianist Pavlo Gintov. The event, organized by the US Ukrainian Activists (USUA), was aimed at supporting the Ukrainian medical battalion "Hospitallers", which provides assistance to the military on the front line.
This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.
The concert featured works by Ukrainian composers Serhiy Bortkevych, Viktor Kosenko, Myroslav Skoryk and Oleh Bezborodko, which Gintov performed with exceptional skill.
The concert was opened by Deputy Head of the French Mission Agnes von der Mühl, Counsellor Katja Smagliy and USUA President Nadiya Shaporynska, who welcomed the guests from the stage.
"It was an honor to meet with our defenders who are in the United States for medical treatment and rehabilitation. On one of the photos you can see Andriy Smolenskyy, the commander of an aerial reconnaissance unit. Andriy lost both his arms and his eyes. He had very deep thoughts about the music I played that evening," the musician writes.
Pavlo Gintov is known for his international career, having performed in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Teatro Nazionale Verdi in Milan, and the Kyoto Hall in Tokyo. Recognized as a pianist of "poetic keys" and a "musical storyteller," he holds a diploma from the Moscow Conservatory and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
The concert was another cultural event that united the Ukrainian diaspora in support of Ukraine and the promotion of Ukrainian musical heritage.
