The United States will provide Ukraine with a new major military aid package worth $725 million. According to U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the package will include critical weapons to support Ukraine's defense capabilities.
This was reported by Pentagon.
The package includes:
- Ammunition for NASAMS and HIMARS;
- Stinger missiles;
- Counter-UAV (c-UAS) munitions;
- 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition;
- Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS);
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- Small arms and ammunition;
- Critical infrastructure protection equipment;
- spares, support equipment, services, training and transportation.
"The United States will continue to work with some 50 allies and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and related coalitions of opportunity to meet Ukraine's urgent battlefield needs and defend against Russian aggression," the Pentagon added.
The package also includes training, transportation and equipment to protect critical infrastructure. The aid will be provided from U.S. stockpiles under the Presidential Decision Authority (PDA) program. The Pentagon stressed that this assistance is part of the alliance's efforts to deter Russian aggression.
