On January 12, a "Fair Peace for Ukraine" rally was held in downtown Boston at the Parkman Bandstand in Boston Common Park. The event brought together dozens of concerned citizens with Ukrainian flags, posters and signs symbolizing the struggle for freedom and justice.
This was reported by Boston Supports Ukraine.
Participants in the event emphasized the importance of preserving the international order where law and justice, not the right to use force, prevails. People called for an end to Russian aggression and recalled that peace is possible only with full respect for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Peace achieved at the expense of freedom is not peace, it is surrender to the aggressor. We cannot allow the creation of a world where power triumphs over justice, where borders are erased by force, where international law is trampled upon with impunity. The aggressor must be held accountable for its crimes, and Ukraine must be given everything it needs to restore its peace and independence," the organizers said in their appeal.», — йдеться у зверненні організаторів.
The Boston rally was part of a series of "Fair Peace for Ukraine" protests that also took place in New York and Washington, DC.
Organizers emphasized that these events have global significance because the struggle in Ukraine is a struggle for the future of the world, where peace is based on responsibility and justice, not violence.
Among the main demands of the participants:
- An end to Russian aggression in Ukraine
- Establishment of a lasting, just peace
- Guarantees of security for Ukraine in the future
According to the organizers, the voices that rang out in Boston that day will continue to remind the world that "freedom is a struggle, and justice is the foundation of true peace."
