The city hosted the annual parade to honor American servicemen and women who lost their lives in service to their country. The Ukrainian community of Ohio attended this year's event, having been invited by Mayor Anthony Biasiotta.

The parade route began at St. Columbkille Church and School (6740 Broadview Road) and continued south on Broadview Road. Then, the procession turned onto Hillside Road and concluded at Seven Hills City Hall, where the main festivities took place.
Mayor Biasiotta, Cayuga County Executive Chris Ronayne, local officials, veterans, and numerous community members attended the parade. They expressed gratitude, emphasizing that freedom never comes without sacrifice:
"We enjoy our rights and privileges because of the brave men and women of the armed forces who have paid the ultimate price for others."
After the parade, a solemn ceremony honoring the fallen was held at the Veterans Memorial at City Hall. During the ceremony, six new names were unveiled on the Memorial Wall.
The weather was favorable for the event, and the atmosphere was inspiring and solemn. The United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio thanked the mayor, the organizers, and all those who participated in the parade and ceremony.
“Today, we were reminded that freedom is not free. We enjoy our rights and privileges thanks to the brave men and women of the Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to their country. This year, six new names were added to the Wall of Memory in front of City Hall. We thank all of our marchers for participating and honoring the fallen!" The Ukrainian community expressed their gratitude.
The Ukrainian community's participation in this day of remembrance is a gesture of gratitude and a manifestation of the solidarity between peoples who understand the importance of fighting for freedom.
