The 11th annual event, organized by Nova Ukraine in cooperation with the Leleka Foundation, took place in San Francisco. Over a hundred participants gathered in Golden Gate Park to support Ukraine, celebrate the strength of the community, and thank volunteers, benefactors, and friends of the organizations for their dedication.

"We gathered to celebrate our incredible volunteers, benefactors, and friends who make all of this possible. It was a day of Ukrainian spirit, summer sun, and true unity," the organizers emphasized.
Despite the traditionally cool San Francisco weather, with wind and fog, the event took place in an atmosphere of warmth, unity, and sincere communication. The event transformed the green lawn into a living mosaic of the Ukrainian community with flags, songs, delicacies, and children's laughter. Guests brought homemade dishes, and the organizers treated everyone to a potluck of delicacies. Guests enjoyed performances by musicians, including live music by Kalyna Bay on an improvised stage under the Nova Ukraine tent.
More than 100 people attended the event, including local residents, Ukrainian families, volunteers, and benefactors. The atmosphere was enhanced by friendly conversations, dancing, and photo sessions near the blue-and-yellow flag. Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy delicious snacks and outdoor games.
Oleksii Khorosh, a representative of the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco, gave a special speech emphasizing the importance of community and mutual support.
The annual Nova Ukraine picnic has become a tradition in the Ukrainian community of San Francisco — a gathering that unites people around culture, heritage, and shared values.
"This picnic has grown into a beloved summer tradition that brings people together to celebrate Ukrainian culture and support each other. Thank you to everyone who joined us — those who met old friends, found new ones, and expressed their sincere support for Ukraine,” the organizers concluded.
