The Ukrainian community of Cleveland and surrounding cities gathered at the end of the summer for the annual Ukrainian Festival in Parma, held on the territory of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. Andrew the Apostle. For two days, guests had the opportunity to join in the celebration of Ukrainian culture and traditions.

The festival featured numerous food zones serving traditional Ukrainian dishes – varenyky, golubtsi, sausage, borscht and other delicacies. A wide range of homemade pastries prepared by parishioners and Ukrainian beer were in particular demand. Visitors could also purchase crafts by folk craftsmen, souvenirs, embroidered shirts and art objects in specially equipped shopping tents.
The musical part of the festival was rich: the “Legenda” quartet, the “Ukraine” folk ensemble, Ostap Stakhiv, Olya Hryniuk and Ivan Hryniuk, the “Namysto” vocal ensemble, as well as CYM dance groups performed. The audience was also entertained by youth groups with national dances. The evening program ended with the music of DJ Zenon Tsymko.
A separate program was prepared for children with games, trampolines and an exciting youth football match, as well as an animal show by Jungle Bob, which became one of the most anticipated events. In addition, visitors took part in the festival lottery with a grand prize of $1,000.
The organizers emphasized that the festival is not only an entertainment event, but also an annual charitable initiative that unites the community, helps preserve Ukrainian traditions and pass them on to future generations in the United States.
