New York City UWA Choir Capella: 23 Voices Unite in New Regional Group

The New York District of the Union of Ukrainian Women of America officially introduced the newly formed UWA New York Choir Capella, which has grown from a local initiative into a full-fledged group of 23 members in a few months.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Women of America Division 1.

“What was until recently an initiative of the First Division of the UWA has blossomed into a full-fledged regional choir capella of 23 voices in a short period of time,” the post says.

The first public performance of the UWA New York Choir Capella was reportedly held last Sunday during the Day of the Union. The debut was successful and moving, and the presentation of the new choir project garnered numerous positive reviews.

The chapel is led by Alla Rodina, who created the Christmas Nativity Scene in the First Department less than a year ago, and with the support of coordinator Yulia Zolotorevskaya. After six months of active rehearsals, they managed to form a unique creative space.

It was also noted that the new group united participants from three departments of the Ukrainian Academy of Music - the 1st, 125th and 21st, and has already become an important center of cultural interaction of the Ukrainian community of New York.

“The chapel is rapidly becoming a special space in the New York District of the Ukrainian Academy of Music - a place where you can sing, meet, celebrate and cultivate a sincere love for Ukrainian music and culture,” the post notes.

According to the organizers, after the premiere performance, the participants have already begun work on the Christmas program. The plans include new concerts, holiday events and large-scale musical projects.

“More amazing things are ahead. More music. More unforgettable moments. This is just the beginning!” – summed up the First Division of the SUA.

The SUA New York Capella is comprised of members of the First Division: Alla Rodina, Yuliya Zolotorevska, Tiana Motorna, Lenusya Hofmeister, Oksana Sydorchak, Tetyana Smith, Olga Pylypovych, Lyubov Orel, Maria Lazarev and Zoryana Vykhovanska.
