December Ukrainian Night Unites Community in Prayer and Advocacy for Ukraine

In December, in Sacramento, California, USKO Realty hosted Ukrainian Night, a monthly event that brought together all who support Ukraine and pray for its victory. Participants prayed for Ukrainian defenders, volunteers, and medics, for the families of the dead, refugees, prisoners of war, civilian hostages, and kidnapped children, as well as for the Ukrainian and American authorities.

This was reported on the event’s Facebook page.

“December Ukrainian Night brought together all who support and pray for Ukraine,” the message reads.

According to reports, after the joint prayer, an inspiring speech was given by Ken Cooley, who addressed the community with words of support for Ukraine and a call for further solidarity.

“A very warm and beautiful gathering during this Christmas season is the monthly Ukrainian Night of Song and Prayer. These evenings focus on a wide range of issues through which the ongoing war affects the lives of Ukrainians - both here and in Ukraine,” said Ken Cooley. said враженнями Кен Кулі.

In particular, representatives of the Sunflower Society shared two important pieces of news. The first concerned a warning about the activity of ROCOR on Capitol Hill, where, according to activists, disinformation about the alleged persecution of churches in Ukraine was being spread.

The second key piece of news was the passage of H.R. 5962, initiated by Congressman Greg Landsman. The document authorizes the US Department of Justice and the US Department of State to provide technical, training and advisory support to Ukraine for the purpose of exchanging prisoners of war, releasing civilian hostages and returning forcibly deported Ukrainian children.

It was also noted that the Sunflower Society called on the community to take further action. In particular, it concerns the dissemination of truthful information within the framework of the “Russia’s War on Faith” initiative and assistance in organizing screenings of the documentary “A Faith Under Siege” in US churches. Participants were separately urged to contact their representatives in Congress with support for H.R. 5962.

In addition to the prayer part, the event was supplemented by a performance by singer Natalia Ginkul. A special guest was Yevheniya Pyaskivska, who presented charity calendars dedicated to the strength and indomitability of Ukrainian women. All proceeds from the sale of the calendars will be directed to support victims of sexual violence committed by Russian occupiers in the Kyiv region.
