Ukrainian communities across the U.S. are preparing a series of colorful Christmas fairs that combine tradition, culture and art. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Ukrainian traditions, purchase unique holiday gifts, enjoy national cuisine, and participate in various workshops. Each event offers a special program, from the Christmas Star Procession in Concord to Easter egg painting in Saratoga to a bustling art fair in Chicago.
Ukrainian Christmas Fair in Concord
On December 8, the Ukrainian Christmas Bazaar will be will take place at the Concord Scout House (74 Walden St., Concord, Massachusetts). The purpose of the event is to raise funds for children in Ukraine. It is organized by the Ukrainian Cultural Center of New England (UCCN).
"This year's procession will be led by St. Nicholas and will include families with children who have made their own stars. The stars of different colors and sizes will shine at the Mass that evening. It will be a real miracle," said the UCCN.
Visitors will be able to buy unique Christmas gifts from Ukrainian brands and craftsmen (handmade toys, Easter eggs, decorative elements, paintings by Ukrainian artists, jewelry and books), taste traditional dishes, enjoy the performance of the Nativity scene and the bright Christmas procession with the star. The residence of St. Nicholas will be open for children, where they can receive sweet presents.
All funds raised will go to the City of Good Foundation, which helps seriously ill children, orphans and children from evacuated areas by creating an art therapy space and children's library for them.
Chicago Winter Art Fair
On December 14 and 15, the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art (2320 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, Illinois) invites you to the fourth annual Makers Market. The event aims to support local artists and promote contemporary art. The event is organized by the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art.
Visitors will be able to purchase unique products from local artisans, including ceramics, textiles, jewelry, candles and other unique items from brands such as Color is My Dopamine, Considered Cloth, Miskovsky Ceramics, NGB Pottery, etc. The event will also feature the exhibition "Agency: Craft in Chicago from the 1970s-80s and Beyond." Guests will enjoy DJ sets by Stafford, complimentary beverages, and raffles.
All-Ukrainian Christmas Fair
On December 8, the Ukrainian Community of Colorado invites everyone to the All-Ukrainian Christmas Bazaar in Morrison, Colorado (T.E.V. Edelweiss Club Inc.) from 12:00 to 6:00 pm. The event is organized by the Ukrainians of Colorado.
Visitors will be able to enjoy Ukrainian cuisine, purchase unique gifts and handmade products, and participate in various activities. The event will feature traditional Ukrainian dishes and desserts, as well as master classes, including a mulled wine making class. There will be interactive zones for children with fun activities that will provide entertainment for the whole family.
Organizers say the event will be a great opportunity for Coloradans to learn about the rich culture of Ukraine and join in the festive atmosphere.
"Ukrainian Christmas" in Saratoga
On December 7, the Ukrainian Women's League of America (UNWLA) Chapter 107 invites you to a festive event "Ukrainian Christmas" to be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Saratoga, California from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The event is designed to popularize Ukrainian traditions, holiday spirit and unite the community. The event will feature a craft and food fair with unique gifts, Ukrainian food, wine and snacks, Easter egg painting with Sofia Ogorodnyk and Ukrainian fabric printing workshops, holiday activities for children with a visit from St. Nicholas, the opportunity to participate in a silent auction with unique items to support charities, and professional photo shoots.
The event was supported by local wineries including Summerwood Winery, Uphill Vineyards and House Family Vineyards.
