Russian troops have once again launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine, hitting the cities of Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. More than 40 missiles of various types were fired. Residential buildings, infrastructure and two hospitals were destroyed by rockets and debris.
Strike on Okhmatdyt children’s hospital:
According to the preliminary data of the security service, the occupiers used a strategic cruise missile X-101. As a result of the enemy attack, the oncohematological department of the new building of the Okhmatdyt hospital was also damaged. The most serious patients from all over Ukraine are treated here.
Children were forced to sit outside under drips.
It is known that 2 adults were killed in the attack on Okhmatdyt. 16 people were injured, among them 7 children.
US reaction:
US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said that the russian aggression, which accompanied the 75th anniversary of NATO, shows a complete disregard for human life and threatens European and transatlantic security. She stressed the importance of significant commitments by world leaders to Ukraine’s security.
Emergency meeting of the UN Security Council:
Ukraine initiated the convening of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following today’s attack. Ukraine emphasized the need to hold russia responsible for the terror and putin responsible for the orders leading to such attacks.
Casualties and injuries:
The death toll from the massive terrorist attack has risen to 33:
– Dnipro region: 11 dead, 68 injured, including three 14-year-olds.
– Kyiv: 22 dead, including two children, and 82 injured.
