At the NATO summit in Washington, member states will announce new steps to increase financial support for Ukraine. Namely, they will provide Ukraine with €40 billion in funding over the next year.
"Financial assistance - Allies will announce their intention to provide a minimum of 40 billion euros in core funding over the next year and to ensure a sustained level of security assistance so that Ukraine can win," the White House said.
The White House press release noted that contributions to Ukraine to fulfil this pledge will come from funds already appropriated by Congress in the National Security Appropriations Act, which President Biden signed into law in April.
"We are in the process of transferring F-16s from Denmark and the Netherlands. And those aircraft will be flying in Ukrainian skies this summer", said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the NATO summit in Washington.
As the White House also noted, the governments of the United States, the Netherlands and Denmark are in the process of providing Ukraine with American-made F-16s with the support of the United States.
