The initiative will provide $7 million to purchase more than 10,000 pieces of equipment.
This was announced by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the NATO Women, Peace and Security Roundtable.
"Too often, Ukrainian women fighters lack the necessary equipment to meet their unique needs, forcing many to buy and even design their own uniforms. Today, we are taking a step to remedy this by announcing that NATO Allies will provide more than $7 million in equipment for women in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including more than 10,000 bulletproof vests, uniforms and boots. We applaud every Ally who has stepped forward to support this initiative.
There are currently 67,285 women serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, of which 47,569 are servicewomen and more than 5,000 are on the front line.
