An interesting weekend: a team of runners from Nova Ukraine, one of the largest Ukrainian humanitarian organisations providing aid to Ukraine, will take part in the San Francisco Marathon. This is one of the most popular and spectacular charity races that will take place in the Bay Area on Sunday 28 July.
The organisation aims to raise funds to support the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, which was attacked by Russia on 8 July.
The attack caused severe damage to intensive care units, operating theatres and oncology wards. The attack destroyed the building where children receive dialysis, which is vital to their survival.
Each year, up to 18,000 children are treated in Okhmatdyt, around 20,000 receive emergency care in the trauma centre and around 7,000 operations are performed.
Donations to the Nova Ukraine team will be used to replace equipment and restore the hospital.
