"We thank everyone who joined us for the 'Weaving Stories' workshop, held as part of our ongoing exhibition 'Craft in Chicago from the 1970s-80s and Beyond.' This weaving workshop at UIMA attracted over 60 participants eager to learn the techniques of weaving and create some beautiful works", the organizers shared.

For three hours, attendees of all ages had the opportunity to engage in the artistic project using small hand looms or working on a collaborative tapestry. This tapestry, woven on a traveling loom, will journey between four partner organizations, uniting artistic efforts into a single story.
The event was aimed at inspiring creative self-expression and exploring the traditions of hand weaving. The organizers emphasized that the "Weaving Stories" program is designed to promote cultural exchange and artistic dialogue among communities.

The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art organized the interactive event in partnership with the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, the Intuit Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, and the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture. The event was supported by the Terra Foundation for American Art.
