A bipartisan delegation of the U.S. Congress is on a working visit to Kyiv to hold talks with Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Balanutsa. The American delegation was led by Congressmen Donald Norcross of the Democratic Party and Jimmy Panetta and Celeste Meloy of the Republican Party.
The main topic of the meeting was to discuss further assistance from the United States, including military, financial and political support. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"Even each transferred ammunition plays a big role in our fight. And when we ask for something, we know the real algorithm of application and the result that the necessary weapon can bring", said Balanutsa. – зазначив Балануца.
The deputy minister also stressed the importance of the authorization of US military strikes against Russian military targets, noting that after the attack on the Okhmatdy children's hospital, the issue of escalation should not be on the agenda.
Special attention was paid to the reforms that Ukraine continues to implement despite military difficulties. Ukraine's aspirations to join the EU and NATO remain unchanged.
"This visit allows us to better understand the reality in which Ukrainians have been living in recent years. After all, what we have seen cannot be compared to the news on CNN, ABC or Fox News. We will continue to help until a just peace prevails", said Congressman Donald Norcross.
