The charity race "Race to Raise" took place in New York's Central Park. The purpose of the event was to draw attention to the war in Ukraine and to raise funds to support the Ukrainian defenders.
The Race to Raise was made possible by organizer Mykola Taran, a four-time Ukrainian ultramarathon record holder and organizer of charity events in the United States, who was supported by Ukrainian top model Alina Baikova and the Svitanok organization.
Mr. Taran managed to gather about thirty participants in the race. Among them there were both Ukrainians and Americans.
The race was accompanied by the performance of Ukrainian songs, and the Ukrainian anthem was played at the start.
"Many Americans thanked us and supported us, and we were grateful for their help! And of course the Ukrainian anthem was played at the start, because it is our identity! And like I said, charity has no borders!", - said Taran.
Ukrainians also brought posters and banners to the event calling for the release of all Ukrainian soldiers from Russian captivity and continued support for Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor.
In parallel with New York, a race in support of this initiative was also held on the Dnipro embankment in Kyiv.
