The 30th National Convention of the Ukrainian Youth Ministry (CYM) in the United States, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, took place this weekend in Chicago. At present, the CYM in the United States has more than two thousand members and about 20 branches in different states.
This was reported by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova.
The Ambassador of Ukraine emphasised the important role of the organisation in shaping the leaders of the Ukrainian diaspora.
"The Union of Ukrainian Youth has produced many true leaders of the Ukrainian community who have set an example of faithful service to Ukraine throughout their lives... Let the Sumy slogan 'Honour of Ukraine - Ready to Defend' unite us and inspire us to continue the struggle for freedom and independence of Ukraine and victory over the Russian aggressor", Markarova said.
Earlier in May, the organisation's annual rally was held at the CYM headquarters in Ellenville, New York, under the slogan "...Evil will perish and truth will prevail", bringing together more than 650 participants.
The Union of Ukrainian Youth is an international non-governmental organisation that unites Ukrainian youth to promote patriotism, civic engagement and commitment to the ideals of Ukrainian independence.
