The 49th U.S. Marine Corps Marathon officially took place in Washington, DC. More than 23 thousand runners from around the world participated in the elite test of mental and physical endurance and strength. Athletes competed in various distances and in the traditional 26.2 mile marathon. Two Ukrainian teams also took part in the competition.

"We are cheering on all participants at the start and especially the two Ukrainian teams, who have traditionally participated in this year's 49th Marine Corps Marathon. We appreciate the continued cooperation with the U.S. Marine Corps and the friendly shoulder of Eric Smith and his team as we fight for our freedom," Markarova said at the start of the competition.
United Help Ukraine (UHU), with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, has been the official sponsor of the Ukrainian team at the U.S. Marine Corps Marathon for seven years. This year, Ukrainian runners covered a distance of 10 thousand miles. The team is made up of Ukrainian veterans who fought bravely for their country. Many of these heroes were wounded and ran the marathon with prosthetics, demonstrating their incredible resilience. українські бігуни долали дистанцію в 10 тисяч миль. The Marine Corps Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the United States and the world, known for its magnificent course through Arlington, Virginia and the nation's capital. Known as the "Best Marathon for Beginners," the MCM is the largest marathon in the world that does not offer prize money, making it the "Marathon for the People.
