With funding from the U.S. State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, 800 mobile fire teams have been deployed in Ukraine by the National Guard and State Border Guard Service. These units have already destroyed more than 200 Russian drones since the beginning of the year, protecting civilians and the country's critical infrastructure.
This was reported by US Embassy in Ukraine.
U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink noted the effectiveness of the new groups in her statement.
"The mobile fire teams of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are saving lives through their successful work to protect people and critical infrastructure from attack by Russia. I am proud that the State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs has funded 800 such groups that have shot down more than 200 drones since January 1, 2024," she said.
