According to the latest Gallup poll, conducted in December, for the first time less than half of Americans (48%) support the position that the United States should help Ukraine regain all the territory it has lost. Instead, 50% favor a quick end to the war. This figure has been gradually increasing since August 2022, when 33% of respondents were in favor of this.
This was reported by Gallup.
Americans remain divided on whether the United States should help Ukraine achieve total victory or promote a quick end to the conflict. At the same time, there is a significant partisan divide. Among Republicans, 74% favor a quick end to the war, an increase of 20% from previous polls. Among Democrats, this figure has risen to 30%, but most of them continue to support the current level of aid to Ukraine.
In addition, 68% of Americans believe that neither Ukraine nor Russia currently has a clear advantage in the war. This opinion is shared by members of both major political parties, as well as independent voters.
