The Ukrainian Youth Ministry (CYM) in Palatine, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, hosted a unique theatrical performance of the Nativity scene "A Christmas Miracle" in the Great Hall of the Ukrainian Youth Ministry (CYM). The parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary presented a true Christmas miracle through a traditional nativity scene that inspired faith and warmth.
This was report by Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church-Palatine
"The community of Immaculate Conception Church in Palatine joined together to ensure that this year our traditional Ukrainian Nativity scene filled every heart with the warmth of the Christmas miracle and the light of faith. May this ancient tradition become a source of joy and inspiration and ignite the Christmas spirit in every home," the message reads.
The Church's press service noted that this year, through the Nativity scene, the actors tried to reflect the difficult moments of the war in Ukraine, trying to show how important it is to maintain the spirit of unity, support each other and fight for victory through the prism of tradition, even in the most difficult times.
The organizers, the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception and CYM Palatine, prepared an eventful program. The festive performance, directed and conceived by Oksana Svidruk, director of the Kinomalyatko Drama Group, was presented by actors from the Kinomalyatko Group, the Angelic Children's Choir, the Bohdan Plishka Church Choir, the Ukrainian Youth Union named after Col. Dmytro Vitovskyi, and the Ukrainian Folklore Studio Ethnos (Iskra Dance School).
Yuriy Hayovyk, a soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, also took part in the event as an actor. The Ukrainian defender is currently undergoing rehabilitation in the United States with the support of the Protez Foundation.
