In Chicago, the celebration took place at the Zhyvago Restaurant and became a sold-out event full of Ukrainian traditions and sincerity. The main characters of the evening were soldiers Denys Sluchai, Andriy Romanchuk and Belarus "Woolf".
A rich program with numerous artists was prepared for the guests. The guests were entertained by the Smart Minds singing school led by Galina Androsyuk, the Ethnos dance ensemble, and the headliner of the evening was the TRIODA band from Ternopil.
A special moment was the performance of the Nativity scene by the Vyshyvanka Dance School, which raised $4,000 to support the military. And 300 raffle tickets were sold, which brought the Foundation another $3,000. In total, Chicago raised $13,156.
Sarasota, Florida, hosted the first Rozkolyada community event, which raised $9.7 thousand to be used for treatment and prosthetics for the military in the United States. The main guests were soldiers Viktor "Riddick" and Dmytro Skliarenko.
The festive atmosphere was created by young carolers, the Chados duo and host Mariana Balash.
"The talented children and artists lit up the audience and our festive evening with their sonorous voices and cheerful songs. These are the little singers Yana Havalukh and Oleksandra Levytska and the duo Chados (Garik and Marichka), who set the audience on fire with their cheerful songs. At Sarasota's Rozkolyada, guests were treated to a full program of carols performed by the event's hostess, Mariana Balash. Her soft voice and sincere renditions of traditional Ukrainian Christmas songs created a unique atmosphere of warmth and comfort," said event organizers.
Traditional charity auctions included a necklace by designer Oksana Boriychuk, an embroidered shirt by ethnographic gallery Roksolana Shymchuk, homemade Revived Soldiers Ukraine brand wine by volunteer Mykhailo Boichuk, and a silk scarf by Lviv-based Dee Atelier.
In total, thanks to charity auctions, raffles and the generosity of our guests, we raised $23,000 to be used for the treatment of Ukrainian soldiers.
