Art Festival in Texas honors Ukrainian women's contribution to the cultural and volunteer front

A vibrant cultural event took place in Leander, Texas, at the historic Mason Homestead, a Ukrainian art exhibition and festival organised by the Ukrainian Women's Union of America Chapter 147 in partnership with the Liberty Ukraine Foundation. The creative evening of art, music and entrepreneurship was designed to express deep gratitude to women activists who support Ukraine and communities in the United States through their daily work.

This was reported by the exhibition and UNWLA Branch 147, Austin and San Antonio, TX.

The centrepiece of the event was an art exhibition by Yan Nikitin featuring 77 portraits of women leaders in a pop art style. This powerful visual project highlights the strength, dignity and influence of Ukrainian women in fields ranging from volunteerism to the arts and education. Some of the portraits are of Liberty Ukraine Foundation heroines who have joined the fight for freedom through their activities.

"This exhibition honours incredible women from the Ukrainian community and the United States - women who inspire us through their work, dedication and efforts to help Ukrainians and beyond. Each portrait represents a woman who is actively making a difference in the world around her - through volunteerism, impactful projects, professional achievements and unwavering support for those in need. Their strength and resilience is truly inspiring," said artist Nikitina.

The exhibition also included the Ukrainian Homestead photographic works, which tell the story of the connection to the land, home and traditions.

The musical part of the festival consisted of performances by pianist Alex Sedin, singer Oleksandra Pelita, known as the "Nightingale of the Ukrainian Community", and young talents from the Ukrainian children's rock music school "Rock Garage" under the direction of Oleksandr Pavlik.

The space of the historic Mason Homestead came alive thanks to Ukrainian vendors, including Yana Kartseva, Liubov Krymer, Veronika Sytnikova, who presented unique handmade products, clothing and accessories. Visitors had the opportunity to support Ukrainian producers and artists. Guests also enjoyed delicious dishes and desserts prepared by the Austin Bake Dream Team, as well as aromatic coffee from KavaOli.

The organisers thanked all the volunteers, musicians, artists, technical support and sponsor St. Clair Wine for the inspiring, unifying and empowering atmosphere. UNWLA Branch 147 and Liberty Ukraine Foundation emphasised that this event was not only about celebrating past achievements, but also about the future that strong women are creating every day in different parts of the world.
