Anti-Trump protests: Large-scale rallies against President Trump's policies, including his approach to the war in Ukraine, took place in the United States

Large-scale "Hands Off!" protests took place in the United States against the policies of President Donald Trump and his administration. The demonstrations spanned all 50 states, including major cities such as Washington, D.C., Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago, and brought together thousands of protesters from New York to Alaska - more than 1,200 separate actions across the country, making it one of the largest expressions of civil discontent since the start of Trump's second term.

This was reported by Associated Press.

According to the Associated Press, the rallies took place at more than 1,200 locations in all 50 states and were organised by a coalition of more than 150 community initiatives - including human rights organisations, unions, LGBTQ+ activists, veterans and campaign volunteers.

The main topics of outrage were the Trump administration's initiatives to downsize government structures, lay off thousands of civil servants, cut funding for health programmes, restrict the rights of immigrants and transgender people, and close some institutions, including Social Security Administration offices.

In addition, participants expressed their disagreement with the Trump administration's approach to the war in Ukraine and its attitude towards Russia. Many people held Ukrainian flags to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

Protesters also expressed concern about the role of Elon Musk and his influence on the government, particularly the activities of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which they saw as a threat to democratic institutions.

In Washington, DC, more than 100,000 people gathered on the National Mall. In Boston, demonstrators held placards reading: "Hands off our democracy" and "Hands off our social security", and on the West Coast - "Fight the oligarchy".

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a few miles from Trump's golf club. At the time, the White House said the president was playing golf and planned to do so again the next day.

Several hundred protesters took to the streets in Florida, chanting slogans and holding signs with harsh statements about Trump and his adviser Elon Musk.

Since Trump's return to the White House, the United States has seen numerous nationwide demonstrations, but the current ones are among the largest.

The protests took place not only in the US, but also in European capitals such as London and Berlin, where hundreds of people protested against the Trump administration's foreign policy, including its stance on Ukraine.

Despite the size of the protests, they were peaceful and there were no reports of arrests.
