In Scottsdale, Arizona, a new edition of the People of Action breakfast series took place, organized by the local “Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary” club. The event’s honored guest was American judge of Ukrainian descent, Orest Yeyna, who attended with a clear mission — to express his support for Ukraine.

The event was held as part of the “Together4Ukraine” campaign, launched by activists of the civic initiative Cactus and Tryzub. Its goal is to counter russian propaganda in American society and strengthen local support for Ukraine.
During his speech, Judge Yeyna shared personal stories about Ukraine, reflected on his professional and civic journey, and called on club members to take action. In particular, he emphasized the importance of contacting congressional representatives to urge the expedited review and adoption of the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025 (S.1241/H.R.2548), as well as support for resolution S. Res. 236, which calls for the return of children deported by russia to Ukraine before any peace agreements are signed.
A special moment of the gathering was the presentation of an honorary Rotary Club pin to Judge Yeyna. Among the attendees was also former Scottsdale mayor David D. Ortega, who spoke at last year’s Ukrainian Independence Day celebration.
The breakfast concluded with the club’s tradition of “happy bucks,” where participants shared what they were grateful for and made charitable donations.
Organizers and attendees also discussed prospects for cooperation between the Rotary Club of Scottsdale and a Ukrainian club based in Kyiv.
