16th Ukrainian Festival Celebrated in Whippany

The annual Ukrainian Festival, organized by the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey (UACCNJ), kicked off in the town of Whippany in the New Jersey area. The celebration gathered hundreds of guests, presented bright concerts, delicious food and a space for community meetings.

This was reported by the organizers of the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey.

“This year the festival took place a week earlier than usual, but traditionally pleased guests with tons of delicious Ukrainian food, a large concert program, performances by artists, numerous vendors and vivid impressions,” the organizers note.

The program included performances by Iskra Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Nadiya Dance School, which impressed the audience with bright costumes and skillful dances, as well as performances by artists Solomiya Stakhiv, Maria Shchupak, Lyudmila Fesenko and Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktoriya Vennikova.

“Everything was extremely beautiful. The program was bright, the food was delicious, many vendors with Ukrainian embroidery, a playground, cold beer and especially desserts – it was incredible! The Ukrainian Dance School “Nadiya” delighted the audience with beautiful dances, bright costumes and professional performance”, – said Nadiya Ursu-Lemega.

The festival became not only a cultural holiday, but also an important opportunity for the Ukrainian community to meet with American politicians and once again declare their support for Ukraine.

“The more than 70,000 Ukrainian Americans who call New Jersey home make our state more economically, culturally and intellectually vibrant. Today I was honored to join them in Whippany for the 16th annual Ukrainian Festival to celebrate their rich heritage and traditions,” said Jack Ciattarelli, an American businessman and politician (Republican of New Jersey, 2011-2018).

In addition to speeches and refreshments, guests were treated to surprises from partners. Companies introduced their teams, organized giveaways and emphasized the importance of supporting the Ukrainian community in the United States.

“We are proud to help the Ukrainian community stay connected with loved ones and businesses around the world,” said TRT Express.
