The United States and a new vector of pressure: Trump talks about negotiations, Vance talks about reality

Moscow refuses to engage in dialogue with Kyiv even with Washington's mediation, while the United States is declaring the need to "wake up" and recognize the real state of war. Against this background, US President Donald Trump emphasizes his own strength, threatens with nuclear submarines, and at the same time offers to bring Zelensky and Putin to the negotiating table. In parallel, attempts are underway to limit the US's dependence on Russian fuel, and diplomatic pressure is maintained in various regions of the world.

Trump called for Putin and Zelensky to be brought together to resolve the war

He emphasized that the only way to achieve this is to act from a position of strength, because the weak side would have no influence.

Trump recalled that he managed to settle seven wars and bring peace to the Middle East, and the Ukrainian-Russian conflict could become the "eighth" settled by him.

The president emphasized that the United States has "extraordinary power", recalled the failures of the Biden administration in Afghanistan.

Russia remains the main supplier of nuclear fuel to the United States

Despite the formal ban on the import of enriched uranium, Russia remained the leading supplier of nuclear fuel to the United States in 2024. According to According from the Ministry of Energy, the Russian Federation accounted for 20% of supplies, while in 2023 this figure was almost 27%. Supplies continued thanks to permits that the Ministry of Energy can issue until 2028 in the absence of alternative sources or in the interests of national security. Among the companies that received permits are Constellation Energy Corp. and Centrus Energy Corp.

Meanwhile, the administration of Donald Trump is urging other countries to reduce their dependence on Russian energy resources, and Congress has allocated significant funds to restore the American infrastructure for the production of reactor fuel. It is expected that these investments will begin to be developed in the near future.

Trump called Medvedev a “stupid man”

Speaking on September 30 to American generals at the Quantico base, US President Donald Trump sharply criticized former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who is now deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council. He called him a “stupid man” who works for Vladimir Putin. This reaction was caused by Medvedev’s nuclear threats in response to Trump’s ultimatum to end the war against Ukraine.
