Fair and Charity: St. Andrew’s Church Parish in Georgia Raises $2,000 to Support Ukraine

On the grounds of St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Cumming,Georgia, the annual Fall Family Festival took place — a joyful event that brought together parishioners, friends, and new guests around shared values, traditions, and charity.

As reported by St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church,

“Our parish has developed a warm and wonderful tradition — the outdoor Fall Family Festival. This celebration unites us, brings joy to our gatherings, and creates a true atmosphere of togetherness!” said the organizers.

The event featured a rich program: musical performances by children and adults under the direction of Lesia Horunovych, face painting, craft workshops, pumpkin decorating, a bonfire, and a screening of Casper the Friendly Ghost. The highlight was a petting zoo that brought smiles to the children. Delicious homemade Ukrainian dishes prepared by the parish sisterhood, along with the entertainment program and friendly atmosphere, made the day truly special.

The festival also had a charitable focus. Thanks to two generous donors, an auction raised $2,000 for a flag of Ukraine’s 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, signed by the soldiers themselves. The proceeds will go to support the 95th Brigade under the care of volunteer Taras Dmytriv.

“Half of those Heroes are no longer with us… Forever Warriors. Forever Heroes,” noted one of the organizers, Anna Pynzenyk.

Guests could also purchase handcrafted items, including the composition “The Pumpkin Walks Through the Garden” created by Lesia Horunovych and Yuliia Melnyk.

The silent auction continues — visitors can still contribute to the cause by bidding on unique items, such as the gift basket “Warm Breath of Autumn.” All proceeds will be donated to support “City of Goodness,” the largest shelter in Ukraine for women and children.
