A charity event organized by the Union of Ukrainian Women of America took place at the BBC Tavern and Grill in Greenville, Delaware. The event’s goal was to raise funds to purchase an evacuation vehicle for medics who save lives on the front lines in Ukraine every day.

The event was dedicated to supporting the medical personnel of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade who work in the combat zone.
“The medics of the 79th Brigade work in constant danger – reaching the wounded and evacuating them to a safe place. They desperately need reliable evacuation transport – a lifeline that allows them to respond quickly, safely transport the wounded and continue their vital mission – saving lives,” the Guest Bartender Program noted.
The charity evening took the form of an informal gathering – with guest bartenders, drinks, entertainment and raffles. Prizes included gift baskets, certificates to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, restaurants and cafes, as well as paintings by local artists that could be purchased during the event.
“By supporting this cause, you are not only showing solidarity with Ukraine – you are directly contributing to saving human lives,” the organizers added.
In total, thanks to the guests present and online donors, $8,000 was raised, which will be used to purchase and equip the necessary evacuation vehicle.
“Looking around, I couldn’t believe how many incredible people believed and came to support Ukraine! Thank you! To each of you – both those who were in person and those who contributed online – you all became part of a real, vital change… We – are buying a recovery vehicle. This means we are helping to save lives. Someone’s son, father or friend will have a chance to survive – to get to a safe place – thanks to the car that you all helped to buy. It’s powerful,” shared Liliya DeCos, one of the organizers of the event.
