Ukrainian communities from all over the United States are invited to participate in a creative competition that promotes and modernizes our Christmas tradition. Organizers encourage bold, fun, and unconventional interpretations – because nativity scenes have always been a living art form.
This was announced by the owner of the Ukrainian house “Sunflower Ranch” and the organizer of cultural events of the local Ukrainian community, Albina Pozdnyakova.
“Our goal is to promote and renew Ukrainian Christmas traditions. We encourage modern, funny, and creative interpretations, because nativity scenes have always been a living and dynamic art form,” said organizer Albina Pozdnyakova. Альбіна Позднякова.
Conditions of participation:
• Age of participants – 18+
• Place of residence – any state in the USA
• Video duration – 10–20 min
• Language – at least half of the work in Ukrainian
• Number of participants – minimum one
• Story and style – unlimited!
• Deadline – December 24 inclusive
• Announcement of results – January 10
“Our competition honors the winners with exceptional prizes from Ukrainian businesses represented in the USA,” added Albina Pozdnyakova.
Among the main prizes are a one-day stay at Sunflower Ranch (near Austin, Texas), certificates for studying at the Ukrainian school artarea, a book selection from Sokol, gifts from uaart.Gallery, LUXART, delicacies from Multicook and fragrant coffee from KavaOli. Additional surprises from Ukrainian businesses in the USA await the winners.
How to apply:
- Shoot a video of your nativity scene.
- Upload the video and its text to Google Drive / Dropbox and access it via the link.
