The inaugural online meeting of the Diaspora Alliance for Ukraine Reconstruction – a global platform for cooperation between the Ukrainian diaspora, state institutions and international partners to support the sustainable development of Ukraine – was held. As part of the meeting, the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (WFUWO) joined the newly created Alliance to coordinate efforts in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

“WFUWO will continue to actively participate in the international dialogue on the reconstruction of Ukraine, strengthening the role of Ukrainian women and women’s organizations in global processes,” the message says.
As reported, the World Federation of Ukrainian Women's Organizations was represented at the meeting by the head of the organization, Yaroslava Khortyani, as well as representatives of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women's Organizations at the United Nations - Mariana Yevsyukova and Zoryana Holovata.
It is noted that 24 members and 5 partners from ten countries around the world - Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Slovakia, Germany and Romania - have already joined the newly created platform.
It is also specified that the meeting was opened with a video greeting by the Director General of the International Organization for Migration, Amy Pope. The co-chairs of the Alliance and invited speakers included Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Ilona Havronska, Special Representative for Ukrainians in the EU Ylva Johansson, Special Representative for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Davide La Cecilia, President of the Ukrainian World Congress Pavlo Grod, and Deputy Head of the IOM Mission in Ukraine Dejan Keserovych.
According to the organizers, during the meeting, the participants discussed the procedures for accepting new members of the Alliance, additional nominations and election of co-chairs, the creation of thematic working groups, as well as further steps in the development of the international cooperation platform.
“As an international women's organization that has been working around the world in support of a free and independent Ukraine for almost eight decades, the UWWU supports the creation of such an Alliance and is ready to take an active part in its activities,” the message states.

The World Federation of Ukrainian Women's Organizations is an international coordination superstructure of Ukrainian women's organizations in the world, which was founded in 1948. WFUWO has accreditation in the Department of Global Communications and consultative status in the UN Economic and Social Council and membership in UNICEF. The WFUWO network operates in 30 countries around the world.
