A regular monthly Ukrainian Night event was held in Citrus Heights, California, bringing together members of the Ukrainian community and all those who support Ukraine. This time, the gathering was hosted by the Sacramento office of Ukrainian Federal Credit Union.

Participants prayed together for Ukraine’s victory, for Ukrainian defenders, volunteers, and medics, as well as for the families of those who lost their lives, refugees, prisoners of war, civilian hostages, and abducted Ukrainian children. Those in attendance also offered prayers for both Ukraine and the United States of America.
During the gathering, representatives of the Sunflower Society informed attendees about developments surrounding the Ukraine Support Act (H.R. 2913), a bill aimed at strengthening defense support for Ukraine and imposing tougher economic sanctions on russia. They also discussed Congressman Kevin Kiley’s position regarding the procedure for bringing the bill to a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Participants signed a letter of appreciation addressed to the congressman and encouraged the public to spread information about the legislation and contact U.S. senators to ask for their support of H.R. 2913.
The evening’s musical program featured performances by Larysa Kaidrys, Lana Demko, and Anatolii Matviichuk. Attendees also heard remarks from Mykhailo Tkach, Regional Branch Manager of Ukrainian Federal Credit Union in Sacramento, who spoke about the institution’s twenty years of service to local communities and answered questions regarding financial services.
Ukrainian Night is a monthly initiative of Stepan Skots, Svitlana Yotko, and the Sunflower Society organization. The event aims to bring together church and community leaders for joint prayer, the implementation of projects supporting local communities, and assistance to Ukraine.
