The Ukrainian national football team scored a historic victory in its second match at the Paris Olympics, beating Morocco 2-1.
Dmytro Kryskiv gave the Ukrainians the lead in the 22nd minute. However, in the 64th minute, Morocco equalized through a penalty kick. After Volodymyr Saliuk was sent off, the Ukrainian team was forced to play in the minority.
The winning goal for Ukraine was scored by Ihor Krasnopir in the 8th minute of extra time. The referees reviewed Ihor Krasnopir's goal for VAR (video replay), but in the end the goal stood. This is the first soccer victory of the Ukrainian national team at the Olympic Games in its history.
Currently, the Ukrainian national team, led by Ruslan Rotan, has three points and ranks third in Group B. The leader of the quartet is the Argentine national team, which the Ukrainians will meet on July 30 at 18:00.
