Ukraine House raised funds for Ukrainian children during a piano concert and vocal performance by Oleksiy Khakov.
All funds raised will be donated to the Ukrainian foundation Save Ukraine in response to the brutal Russian invasion, including the recent horrific attacks on a children's hospital and mass abductions.
"Save Ukraine has returned 397 children and can do much more with your donations. Save Ukraine is the only NGO that regularly organizes rescue missions to bring back deported children from Russia and works to evacuate the most vulnerable from war zones, with 4 brigades and 60 vehicles", the organizers noted.
A special program was prepared for the guests of this summer evening, including classical and popular contemporary pieces by Mykola Lysenko, Vasyl Barvinsky and the modern Kalush Orchestra.
Hakov is a Ukrainian-American pianist born in Mykolaiv. As a composer and producer, he writes music for ballet, film and radio. He has worked with artists such as the Kalush Orchestra, U-God of the Wu-Tang Clan, and Maroon 5. He has also created audio for the Discovery Channel, Ted-X, Spotify, Fearless Media, and NPR's Morning Edition.
