Ecobags of kindness: Colorado raises money to help Ukrainian children with disabilities

A fundraiser to support Ukraine was held in Fort Collins. The event featured homemade bags, the sale of which raised more than $2,000 to help Ukrainian children with disabilities. This was reported by Voice of Ukraine.

About 300 guests who supported the event gathered at a local brewery and bought a bag or a kit to sew themselves. The event was organized by craftswoman Sally Schneiders and Ukrainian immigrant Tetiana Stratilat, who initiated the production of the bags and later the fundraising to support Ukraine.

Sally Schneiders, an American from Colorado, found an original way to help Ukrainian children with disabilities by combining eco-friendly solutions with charity. She started sewing bags from the sacks used by breweries to transport hops, which usually end up in landfills.

With the help of Tatiana Stratilat, an internally displaced person, Sally began creating colorful Ukrainian-style bags, with a portion of the proceeds going to help children in Ukraine.

"I offered to make her Ukrainian-style bags to help Ukraine and the environment in Colorado. The bags are very colorful, Ukrainian style, with Ukrainian ribbons and a big smiling heart", says Tetiana.

The brewery owners plan to continue to support this method of recycling and raise funds to help Ukraine. Sally Schneiders plans to continue her work and present the bags at a Ukrainian festival in Colorado.
