Ukraine House hosted a presentation of a project by Google Arts & Culture called Ukraine is Here. Google is introducing the world to Ukraine's rich cultural heritage. This project aims to demonstrate the contribution of Ukraine's iconic figures to world art, science, architecture, and literature.
This was reported by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova.
"At a time when our cultural heritage faces the threat of destruction, preserving and telling the story of these masterpieces is more important than ever. With more than 150 articles, thousands of images, 3D models of museums and monuments, this project inspires and brings Ukraine closer to those who visit the Ukraine is here page," said Markarova.
For example, the Google Arts & Culture project features over a thousand images and over 90 stories. The platform has uploaded більше 250 3D моделей та історій про архітектурну спадщину України. Крім того, на сторінці проєкту можна переглянути 360⁰ відео з театральною виставою та три віртуальні галереї.
"We thank the entire Google Arts & Culture team for their dedication and energy! This initiative is a powerful reminder of Ukraine's enormous influence on world culture, our shared commitment to protect it for future generations, and the strength of Ukrainian identity," Markarova added.
The initiative was joined by the Ukrainian digitization company Skeiron, the best Ukrainian museums, including the H.S. Skovoroda Memorial Museum, the National Museum of History of Ukraine, the Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine, the Lviv Historical Museum, and others.
