The United States plans to announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth $375 million as early as next week. The package could include medium-range missiles for F-16 fighter jets capable of hitting targets more than 70 miles (100 km) away. These missiles, used by the US Air Force and Navy, will give Ukrainian pilots new power in the fight against Russian forces.
This was reported by Politico with reference to informed sources.
In addition to missiles, the new package may also include patrol boats, ammunition for the HIMARS systems, artillery shells of 155 and 105 millimeters, as well as other weapons and spare parts.
The publication notes that the details of the package may still change before the official announcement.
These new capabilities will allow Ukrainian troops to operate from greater security, staying away from the front line and Russian air defense, complicating enemy operations.
