In Chicago, the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art (UIMA) successfully hosted a screening of the critically acclaimed Ukrainian feature film Bucha. At the event, held at the UIMA, the audience had the opportunity to speak with the film's screenwriter and producer, Oleksandr Shchur, during a Q&A session.

In particular, he said that the film Bucha is based on real events and tells the story of a man who saves the lives of Ukrainians during the terrible Russian occupation in the cities of Bucha, Vorzel and Gostomel in the Kyiv region in the first months of the full-scale war in 2022.
The protagonist, a citizen of Kazakhstan, Konstantin Gudauskas, who found refuge in Ukraine, led civilians out of the war zone, thus resisting Russian aggression.
The screening of the film, in Ukrainian with English subtitles, was an important event that reminded us of the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their struggle for freedom.
