The US defense program: Pentagon strengthens Ukraine's defense capabilities with new contracts

The U.S. Department of Defense has signed contracts with companies and state-owned enterprises to ensure the defense capabilities of partner countries, some of which are related to support for Ukraine. Namely, the production of small-caliber bombs, the supply of defense and cybersecurity systems. 

This was reported by Pentagon.

In particular, the Pentagon has signed a $6.9 billion contract with Boeing, for the production of small-caliber bombs, which will be delivered to Ukraine, Japan and Bulgaria. Production will take place at a plant in St. Louis, Missouri, with work scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2035.

This contract is part of a Foreign Military Sales program designed to strengthen the defense capabilities of partner nations.

Company Simulation Technologies was awarded a $45.3 million contract to provide Iron Fist defense systems to the military. The contract is part of a three-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that will expire on February 28, 2026. The funding is part of the 2024 Ukraine Assistance Program, and the customer is the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

Company Globe Tech LLC was also awarded a $15.7 million contract for similar Iron Fist defense systems. This contract is expected to be completed by February 28, 2026.

In addition, BAE Systems Land & Armaments L.P. signed a $15.96 million contract with the Pentagon to implement the Raise the Bar cybersecurity system. Also under the Ukraine grant program.
