Ukrainian community of Connecticut joined the international festival «Gathering»

The ninth annual Gathering International Festival and Flag Parade was held in the center of Waterbury, Connecticut, at Library Park, bringing together representatives from 120 countries. And this year, for the first time, the Ukrainian community actively participated in the event, making a powerful and vivid statement about themselves and Ukraine.

This was reported by the organizers of the event on their page.

The festival was held as part of a two-day celebration of the city's 350th anniversary, which ended with an extravaganza of music, dance and national cuisine in Library Park. The event is one of the largest in New England and highlights the diversity and cultural richness of the region.

The main part of the festivities kicked off with a large flag parade, where the Ukrainian flag flew among 120 countries. In addition to the parade and festival, the Ukrainian community was represented by a cultural tent in Library Park.

It was the first time the Ukrainian community had participated in an event of this magnitude and immediately made a strong statement. The International Music Festival was opened by Ukrainian singer Olichka, who performed traditional Ukrainian songs immediately after the flag parade ended. And the guests were introduced to a traditional dance by the youth ensemble Zolotyj Promin.
